WOD #4

Continuing the focus on your purpose, think about your dreams. Not the dreams you think you should have, the dreams you really have.

What lives there?

Do you feel guilty about your dreams? Stop.

I recently discovered this powerful lesson in Decision Making and the Will of Godby Garry Friesen. He summarizes this in four principles:

  • Where God commands, we must obey.
  • Where there is no command, God gives us freedom (and responsibility) to choose.
  • Where there is no command, God gives us wisdom to choose.
  • When we have chosen what is moral and wise, we must trust the sovereign God to work all the details together for good.

So you can quit fighting your dreams and still be in God’s will? Yep. Here’s more.

Today’s Quote:

Some men see things the way they are and ask, “Why?” I dream things that never were, and ask “Why not?”

– George Bernard Shaw

Today’s Affirmation:

I know I am called for great works, and I will choose to be diligent in the pursuit of excellence.

Today’s Verse:

Proverbs 4:7

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
