It’s common practice for most of us to reflect and set goals at the first of each year. Maybe you did that and you’re on track. Or, maybe you were caught up in the holidays or a work project and January flew by.
Or, maybe your plans are already obsolete. That’s okay too. You can declare a Personal New Year at any time. In fact, I’d encourage you to do that right now.
What’s Your Purpose?
Before you start planning specific goals, let’s backup and focus on the bigger picture – your life’s purpose. My favorite resource for that is the Storyline project from Donald Miller.
“When people plan their stories around themselves, they come to the end and realize their stories were empty. When we plan our lives around God, though, we find ourselves in a grand adventure. Our lives are no longer our own, they belong to Him.” – Storyline

The secret of getting ahead is getting started.
The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.
